Sunninghill community “Feed the Hungry” program
“On Friday the 11/11/2011 @ 11h11 the Community of Sunninghill joined forces to fight poverty in the schools. What better way to eradicate poverty in our Country than to give children in our Country the gift of an education, which in turn will hopefully provide them with a skill so that they can provide for their children. This education is so much more difficult to achieve if you are poor and hungry. By filling lots of tummies with food, we hope to have made a small contribution to the children in our poor areas obtaining the skills they need to lift themselves and the future generations out of poverty.
87 people assisted us on Friday and some 9750 meals were completed in 1 hour and 10 minutes!
Thank you to the following for joining our Exco Directors and Community Staff: Massmart, Wallmart, Builders Warehouse, Rawson Properties, Fluor, Reliance Auctions, Sunninghill Hospital, Waterfall Estates, Riverside Manor, DA Ward Councillor – Annette Deppe, Junior College, St Stephens Church, Syspro and many community residents.
A huge thank you to our Sunninghill Community EXCO member Andrew Speirs; Kerry Mawson and Jerry Tom for coming up with this initiative and for putting it all together. For further info on the Stop Hunger Now project please visit www.stophungernowsa.org”
